We often have openings for postdoctoral fellows, although have no funded positions currently. Interested applicants should contact Prof. Ottemann and include a short cover letter, a description of the research you want to carry out in the lab, and your CV.

We accept Ph.D. students via the Program in Biomedical Sciences and Engineering (http://pbse.ucsc.edu), as well as direct applicants to the METX Department (http://www.metx.ucsc.edu/academics/graduate/)

We accept M.S. students throught the METX Department. Students can enroll in the research MS directly, or be UCSC undergraduates who are part of the 4+1 year M.S. program in which the MS research and classes are started in the student's senior year. We frequently take talented undergraduate researchers to carry out independent study. Students must be able to commit 15 hours/week for at least 4 quarters.
